Top 10 Over Used Political Catch Phrases of 2009

While watching the 24 hour news cycle yesterday it occurred to Politacks that every time a politician uses a catch phrase our blood starts to boil. We can’t explain it but there is something about these little one or two word combinations grind on our last nerve. It reminds us of when someone is loosing an argument the resort to name calling.

A perfect example was demonstrated last Fall during the elections. When anyone came out against President Obama’s positions they were quickly dismissed as having racist tendencies and called a ‘Racist’. That seemed to work for some time but the real question is whether or not these phrases actually work over the long term or do they turn people off as soon as they hear them?

Politacks has compiled a top 10 list of our ‘Over Used Political Phrases of 2009’. Feel free to add yours.
